Let Go and Go With the Flow

Let Go and Go With the Flow

Are you working your arse off and getting nowhere fast? If so, you are not alone.

Most of us are living our lives the wrong way round. We work, work, work, until we either burn ourselves out or die. I know that is a harsh thing to say, but it's true.

If you are one of the lucky few who is living the life of your choosing, then I want you to come forward and share your success with all of us. In the meantime, for the rest of us there is hope.

I particularly like Abraham-Hicks analogy of why we struggle so much in our daily lives. They describe life as a very fast flowing river and the more desires you have throughout your life the faster the river flows. There's nothing wrong with that, we are supposed to have desires right? The problem is that most of us put our boats in the river and paddle up stream against the current(If you have ever been in a fast flowing river then you will know that we are no match for the strong current). The river is much more powerful than we are.

So why would anyone deliberately paddle up stream when they know that they will get nowhere and burn them selves out in the process of trying. And what is even worse are those of us who never stop trying because they don't realise that they are paddling the wrong way.

So, there's this fast flowing river and the current carries everything in it down stream, except spawning salmon and us. The salmon are designed to fight against the current, that is what they are supposed to do, but we are not designed to fight against the current, that is not what we are supposed to do.

Why then are we putting our boats in the river and paddling like mad against the current when it's against nature? If we were to think of the river as life it's self , would it not make sense to drop our oars, turn our boat around and float down stream.

Imagine floating down stream at an incredibly fast pace and not paddling like mad. At least you would be moving in a direction. It may not be the direction you feel comfortable with because all your senses are telling you what you want is up stream and you have to paddle like mad to get there. In other words my mortgage and bills are up stream and I have to paddle like mad to find a way to pay them or else I'll loose everything.

But what if your senses are wrong? What if all you want is down stream and you have been paddling in the wrong direction for years. Now I don't know about you, but I don't want to be one of those who will never know that I am paddling in the wrong direction.

We are not stupid, most of us figure out that something is wrong. We know that we are working our buts off and getting nowhere. The problem is that we have lost our trust. If I was to say to you " let go of what ever it is you are trying to achieve and go with the flow, because everything you want is down stream and you don't have to work as hard as you do to get to where you want to go. All your opportunities are waiting for you down stream. Just let go of your oars and go with the flow". You wouldn't believe me or even worse, you do believe me but you are too frightened of loosing everything you own right now.

There is another example I like from Abraham-Hicks. They say that you could put 100% action into something but if it is the wrong action then it means absolutely zilch, you still get nowhere. That's why you see other people living the so called dream and not nearly working as hard as you, because they take the right action and therefore they are in harmony and life goes smoothly for them.

So, you have two choices. You can either carry on doing what you are doing(paddling up stream) and getting nowhere or you can make a decision today and decide to trust in the universe by dropping your oars, turn your boat around, face downstream(go with the flow) and go get those opportunities that are waiting for you.

Trust that life can and will work out for you when you stop fighting against it.
